Hofstede's Country Barn is a family owned business. If you're in the area and want farm fresh fruits and vegetables, Hofstede's is the place to go. They also have a coffee shop serving soups, salads and sandwiches. Items are freshly made and are delicious.
Deli items are available. You can purchase a Deli tray or arrange catering. They sell a variety of cheeses and cold cuts.
Many people in the Chilliwack area have Dutch or German heritage and Hofstede's carries many imported favorites. They also carry an assortment of gluten free products.
If you want to discover new candies or even old favorites, there is the candy wall where you can don plastic gloves and fill a bag with an assortment.
When I think of Hofstede's, I find it hard to sum it up in a word or two. There are endless discoveries to be made as you browse through the shelves. Jars of honey. Unfamiliar pickles.
Oh, and the staff! In a time when it's difficult to find staff in other stores, not so at Hofstede's. You can always find someone to help you. Friendly and helpful!

Local fruit and vegetables along with wonderful fruit from the Okanagan are all available at Hofstede's in Chilliwack. Before you enter the store, you're greeted with this abundance and more. So many choices.
If you have time for a coffee and dessert while in Chilliwack, this is a good place to try. The offering varies with the seasons. Pleasing for the eye, wonderful to taste.
Hofstede's have a number of paninis for sale. However, once I tried the turkey, curried apple, and brie panini, it was sooo good that I always order it.

You'll find local fruit and veggies in the bins outside. Inside the store are many more produce items. On a road trip I always try to stop here on my way home.
