Sunflower Festival in Richmond British Columbia Canada
The Sunflower Festival in Richmond BC is really something to experience. From the large parking lot, a minature train or wagon will take you out to the fields.
Sunflowers, Dahlias in many colours, and wild flowers - 90 varities altogether! There are 20 acres planted in amazing varieties.
The wide paths are easy to negotiate. There was a live band, many chairs, plus bales of hay to sit on. I saw two food stands. The sun was shining and the dahlias were wonderful. Yellows, red, purple, copper, etc. Well worth the trip to Richmond.

Diana Mohrsen That is one of the most memorable things about BC to me, the gardens and the flowers. Thank you for sharing

Andrea Horning I know you've lived in Ontario and Alberta. Did you ever live in BC?
-
Diana Mohrsen I wish, but can't say I have. Saskatchewan for a while though.

It's so amazing to see just how tall those sunflowers are and the flowerheads bigger than dinner plates!
-
They had many varieties of sunflowers, some huge and others quite small.

Wow, those sunflowers are so tall! Looking at the video reminds a little of walking across Spain on the Camino de Santiago!

Sonya Richmond Interesting! My cousin is in Spain at this moment, having just finished the walk or a portion of it. I'll ask her about sunflowers.
