Exploring Beaver Lake near Sundre, Alberta, Canada. This is a small conservation area, with a few parking spots, a day use area, boat launch and a small stocked trout fishing lake. It was a lovely October afternoon walking around checking out the many different ways on Beaver Lake.

There is a stocked trout program in Alberta, and Beaver Lake is on the list. Most recently, they've added tiger trout to the lake. This lake is closed from December to March, so not an ice fishing lake. Additionally, absolutely no bait allowed here. This is mainly a fly fishing destination.

Located between Caroline and Sundre. Not far from Burnstick Lake, on a gravel road.

Many lakes in Alberta have an aeration system to help keep the fish alive in the summer and winter. A popular problem here is "summer kill" and "winter kill" where the fish are starved for oxygen in the water and die. These aeration systems are supposed to help keep the lake alive. With them though come some dangers. Aeration lakes will have thin ice near those areas and are not safe to play around.
