S.S Moyie is a large boat that claims the title for the oldest intact passenger sternwheeler in the world. It's quite the site to see! Luckily, the Kootenay Lake Historical Society take very good care if this ship, and even allow tours during the summer season. It was closed during my winter road trip to Kaslo, but thankfully the signs stay out all year for traveller's to enjoy and learn more about this historic piece of Canada.

The S.S Moyie ended up being the last Sternwheeler in operation across Canada. As highways were developed, the need for these passanger boats became a thing of the past.
