The derby was a success all around and it sounds promising for this to continue for years to come! We stayed at an AirBnB on the lake for easy access with a toddler. The drive was just over 2 hours from Calgary on our road trip this family day weekend

A must have while fishing with a toddler are the catch cover hole covers. Prevents unwanted items going down the hole! Someone dropped their princess rod down the hole...we got it back though.

Ice fishing is quite enjoyable with the right winter gear. Mr Buddy Heaters are fantastic for your ice shelter. There's plenty of options for heat, I just enjoy the portability and reliability of these little units.
