The Murphy Cottage was a beautiful must-see vacation property in NL,Canada. The rental was located about an hour drive away from the city of St. John’s on the islands Southern Shore. In fact, it was very scenic taking a road trip on the historic Irish Loop while travelling to the lakefront cabin.
The cottage was PERFECT for nature lovers and bird watching. It was located on a wooded tranquil pond in the rural community of Brigus South, Newfoundland, Canada. The large private pond side backyard was the perfect spot for fun with family and friends.
Furthermore, there were complimentary games and activities such as washer toss and a paddle boat. A large back deck overlooked the pond with a propane bbq and patio furniture. The outdoor fire pit and dock proved to be amazing destinations for catching the sunrise and sunset over the water.
Inside the Murphy Cottage there was a loaf of complimentary delicious homemade bread waiting for me. It didn’t take me long to dig into the wood pile and light the wood burning stove to set the cottage vibe. In fact, curling up by the fireplace with a good book was a delightful weekend in the country.
The cozy cabin interior decor and design made the cabin rental feel very inviting and welcoming. Attention to detail was evident throughout with local art on display, books to read, comfortable bedding, luxury toiletries and designer soy candles.
In conclusion, I had a FANTASTIC stay at The Murphy Cottage in Brigus South - Cape Broyle Newfoundland, Canada. If you are looking for a peaceful waterfront vacation rental on the Avalon Peninsula - look no further! Relaxing at the outdoor fire pit was my favourite place to be at The Murphy Cottage in Newfoundland Canada. There was plenty of fire wood available and I loved watching both sunrise and sunset over the lake.
The Murphy Cottage in Newfoundland and Labrador Canada offered amazing sunset watching. I was able to photograph the pink and orange sky while listening to the sounds of local wildlife such as loon and other birds.
Spying was in the air at the lakeside cabin in Brigus South NL. In fact, this large rhododendron looked like it would be ready to bloom and flower soon.

As soon as I arrived at the cabin I lit the traditional NL fireplace. There is nothing I love more than the heat from a wood stove and the sound of birch firewood crackling.

I loved the open concept layout of the cabin in Brigus South NL Canada. It was the perfect layout for socializing with family and friends. Stylish decor accents made the vacation accommodation comfortable and cozy.

The master bedroom at the Canadian cottage offered a fantastic sleep. I had a hard time crawling out from beneath the luxurious duvet to catch the sunrise. In fact, this room offers views on the water when you awake in the morning.

The sweet owner left me a complimentary loaf of homemade NL bread. Fresh baked traditional bread was a big food staple growing up on the island. It was delicious!
