Conveniently, the Margaret Falls Trail is open year round for adventurers to explore. It should be noted that the day use area parking lot is closed after Dec 1., the main Margaret Falls parking lot remains open throughout the winter.
I love this hike during the fall season, but I imagine that it could be quite magical in the winter months as well.
This family friendly waterfall hike in British Columbia is found in Harold Provincial Park British Columbia, Canada. Harold Park makes a fantastic basecamp, with seasonal camping available, for any Salmon Arm area adventures.
This waterfall hike is less than 1km from the main parking lot to the waterfall and is wheelchair accessible.
The Margaret Falls trail is unique by the way the trees have fallen in the canyon but are held up by the large rock walls that lead you too the waterfall area.
A beautiful, quiet, peaceful trail for an easy adventure. The scenery along the Margaret Falls trail quickly helped this trail become a personal favourite. We don't have trees like this in Alberta!
This Provincial Park is in a fantastic location on the north side of Shuswap Lake in British Columbia Canada. The Margaret Falls trail should not be missed.
Canada is amazing in many ways, and one way is just how different the forests are. British Columbia is known for its old growth forests and towering trees.
The viewpoint at Margaret Falls is pretty awesome because it brings you right to the base of the falls. During the spring run off, expect to get a bit wet! But the fall flow offers less spray while standing at the base.
The caves hiding in the waterfall are pretty cool to see. You likely wouldn't be able to spot them during the spring run off when the flow is much higher.
Hiking around Salmon Arm area is always a blast. The Margaret Falls trail is awesome because everyone can do it. It's short, flat and well marked. A fantastic toddler friendly trail in British Columbia Canada.

Although we had this trail to ourselves, it seems it could be a busy trail at times. There is a main parking lot, as well as an overflow parking lot at the Margaret Falls day-use area which is across the road. The day-use parking lot is closed as of December 1 or the 1st snowfall. But the main parking lot and trail are open year round.
The trails on the opposite side of the highway near Margaret Falls, are considered the day use area trails. They are wide, well maintained and just as beautiful leading over Reinecker Creek.
This area has been hit by flooding over the years, and they have done a fantastic job of keeping this area open to explore. British Columbia is simply beautiful.
I thought this tree was rather interesting. The larger tree has fallen over time, but new life has started to form as a smaller tree grows out the side of the fallen tree
