The sign here reads Wildhorse Provincial Recreation Area. But when searching online for this area it is found by looking for the Wild Horse Group Use Area. Found on Ya Ha Tinda Road in the Clearwater County of Alberta Canada. This is an absolutely gorgeous area along the eastern section of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
You will find walk in tenting areas as well as a small group use campsite with multiple picnic tables and fire pits. Additionally, you'll find a covered pavilion shelter at this small group use area.
65 km SW of Sundre, along Forestry Trunk Road/Hwy. 734. A beautiful treed in area near the Red Deer River with amazing mountain views nearby.
The trails around here are endless, and a perfect horseback riding destination.
This Wildhorse Recreation Area is not near the Wildhorse Lake Recreation Area, so don't confuse the 2!
