After many years the tree had given in to the elements and toppled over, but locals came together and reinforced the tree as it is such an important piece to the area.

Just beyond the Burmis Tree you see Turtle Mountain. This is the mountain responsible for the 1903 Frank Slide that decimated the town of Frank Alberta
